Osmond students perform in honor band

PLAINVIEW — Eight ninth-12th grade students participated in the 2021 Lewis and Clark Conference Honor Band on Saturday, Jan. 23. The event was held at Plainview Public Schools.

There are two bands, a 9-10 band and an 11-12 band. Each band had a separate clinician. The 9-10 band was conducted by Dr. David Bohnert and the 11-12 band was conducted by Dr. Josh Calkin, both music professors at Wayne State College in Wayne.

The concert was held in the Pirate gym at 4 p .m. Saturday evening. Each band performed four songs during the concert and practiced social distancing as well as wearing masks and bell covers throughout the day.

“It was a cold slick day that was made better with some warm live music that we rarely get these days ,” said OHS band instructor Christalin Ginn.
