Osmond seniors honored with Beacon of Light salute

OSMOND — A Beacon of Light salute to the Osmond High School senior class was held on Friday, May 1, at 8:20 p.m. A steady stream of patrons, parents, family members and students drove by the football field and honked for the senior class, entering the east school entrance, driving around the school, and exiting out of the west school entrance.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, all social distancing regulations were followed during the celebration.

Members of the senior class drove around the football field on the dirt track in their vehicles and on four-wheelers, honking horns and yelling, as they celebrated the conclusion of their school years.

After the Beacon of Lights presentation at the school, the seniors drove around town, with their route ending on State Street. Parents, friends, family and other community members gathered in front of the businesses to support the seniors on their departure from Osmond High school, honking their horns, flashing their lights and cheering for the OHS graduates as they have finished their high school careers.

As the conclusion to the celebration, the seniors released balloons which ascended into the darkening sky above Osmond. The business community and residents wish the seniors well in the future.

The date for the 2020 OHS graduation ceremony is not known at this time, but will be announced as soon as it can be decided.
