Osmond schools to begin next week

OSMOND — Students who attend classes at Osmond’s two schools will return to the routine next week. Thursday, Aug. 13, marks the beginning of the 2020- 21 school term.

Classes on the first day at Osmond Community School — Thursday, Aug. 13 — will be in session until 1 p.m. Buses will make their regular rounds and lunches will be served.

Information in Newsletter

Families of public school children were provided information about the start of school through the regular newsletter. The publication also contains information on lunches, health requirements, school calendar, bus schedules and pictures as well as messages from administrators. Also included is the 2020-21 school calendar.

St. Mary’s Schedule

St. Mary’s Catholic School will offer classes from preschool through eighth grade. Classes will be in session from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. The first day of classes is Friday, Aug. 14, and lunches will be served.

Immanuel Schedule

Immanuel Lutheran Preschool will offer four-year-old and three-year old classes this year. Julie Slagle, the preschool teacher, said she has 11 four-year-olds and four three-year-olds, so the four-year-olds will be split in two groups, with some meeting Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and some meeting with the three-year-olds on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The Monday and Wednesday classes will meet from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. and the Friday class will meet from 8 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. The Tuesday and Thursday three-year-old classes will meet from 8 to 11 a.m. with the fouryear-olds meeting from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

The students in the Thursday classes will begin the school year Aug. 13, while those in the Friday classes will begin Aug. 14.
