Osmond music students excel at District Music Contest
HARTINGTON — Osmond High School vocal and instrumental students excelled at the District Music Contest in Hartington on Friday, April 22.
Almost every group received a Superior (1) or highest rating, with only a few receiving an Excellent (2) rating.
Schools in attendance at the music contest in addition to Osmond included Hartington-Newcastle Public School, Hartington Cedar Catholic, Elkhorn Valley, Plainview, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, Crofton, Bloomfield, Randolph, Verdigre, Creighton, Wynot, Wausa and Niobrara.
Osmond had 23 entries in the contest. Of those, 19 received superior ratings, while four received ratings of excellent.
Osmond music director Christalin Ginn praised the students, saying, “I am so very proud of all that was accomplished today. We had students try something outside their comfort zone, perform their absolute best, and be awesome audience members. Our students treated this day with so much respect and they really put all their effort into it. I cannot say enough about them and their dedication to continuing a long-lasting tradition of Tiger Pride in the music department!
