OHS speech team medals, plans local performance

 

 The Osmond speech team has participated in several meets recently, with many members bringing home medals. 

Wynot Meet 

WYNOT — On Saturday, Feb. 8, Osmond traveled to Wynot, bringing home medals with all eight entries. Kaden Polt and Riley Wagner placed first in duet acting; Kaden, first in entertainment speaking; Kiera Moes, first in persuasive speaking, Kenzie von Rentzell, first in informative speaking; Riley, third in serious prose; Cali Gutz and Kiera, both fourth in duet acting, Alli Aschoff, fifth in serious prose, and Austin Vinson, fifth in informative speaking and sixth in poetry. 

Crofton Invitational 

CROFTON — The team continued their success at the Crofton invitational on Saturday, Feb. 22. Osmond placed fourth overall, with four entries placing at the varsity level. 

Kaden and Riley received first place medals with their duet performance. Diandra received third place with her extemporaneous speech. Alli placed fifth place in serious prose and Kaden placed fifth with his entertainment speech. 

Wausa-Osmond Invitational 

OSMOND — On Feb. 15, five entries received medals at the Wausa- Osmond invite. At the varsity level, Kaden and Riley received first place in duet acting, Diandra received fourth place in extemporaneous, and Riley received fifth place in serious prose. 

At the junior varsity level, Alli received second place in serious prose and Kiera and Cali placed third in duet acting. 

Upcoming Performances 

Osmond will compete next in the Creighton invitational on Saturday, March 7. Conference will be held on March 9 in Laurel and districts will be held on March 18 in Creighton. 

Before Osmond competes at districts, they will perform for the public in Osmond on Monday, March 16, starting at 7 p.m.
