LCC students take part in L&C Art Show

WAYNE — The Lewis and Clark Conference art show was held Feb. 25 through March 2 consisting of all art students attending schools K-12 in 11 schools in this area.

This included Allen, Bloomfield, Emerson-Hubbard, Hartington, Homer, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, Plainview, Ponca, Wakefield, Winnebago, and Winside.

Twenty-five high school entries,10 middle school entries, and seven elementary entries are allowed per school.

The Art Show was displayed at the Student Center, located at Wayne State College.

There are 19 categories designated for judging purposes: HS photography, pen/ink/marker, scratchboard,oil,tempera, watercolor, pencil,colored pencil,chalk,pastel, oil pastel,charcoal, mixed media, printmaking, graphic design(computer arts), fibers (textile/papermaking/Fiber), sculpture (relief/altered), clay (hand built), clay (wheel thrown), and miscellaneous.

Medals were awarded for best of Category, with ribbons handed to those recognized with outstanding works.
