LCC students prepare for early Homecoming Week

LAUREL — Even though the 2021-22 school year has just begun, LCC staff and students are already preparing for Homecoming.

Homecoming activities here begin Sunday, Aug. 29 when the student body is invited to decorate the high school during the day.

A community bon fire and hot dog feed is then slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. at Haskell Field.

On Monday, Aug. 30 the girls golf team will have a morning meet and greet as they greet elementary students arriving at school.

Monday is also dubbed as “I’ll Be There For You/Twins Duo Day.”

On Tuesday the volleyball team will do a morning meet and greet for elementary students.

The Lady Bears will compete in their Homecoming volleyball game Tuesday night. Royalty members will be introduced between B and A game.

The theme for the day is “heat wave/beach.”

On Wednesday, Sept 1, the cross country team will do the morning elementary school meet and greet.

The theme for the day is “Let’s Get Physical/80’s Day.”

Donuts in the Drive will take place at 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

The theme for the day is ‘Party in the U.S.A.”

The LCC football team will do the Friday elementary school meet and greet.

Student Council members will be excused from Friday classes to decorate both gyms for Homecoming festivities.

Homecoming Pep Rally will be held at 1 p.m. in the LCC new gym. Kick-Off for the Homecoming football game is at 7 p.m. Royalty will be introduced at halftime of the football game.

Coronation will begin in the LCC Legacy Gym 30 minutes after the football game and the dance will take place after that.
