LCC Student Council makes, distributes Christmas Shoeboxes

L A U R E L — Operation Christmas shoebox was a success.

The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge High School Student Council was challenged to grab a shoebox from their closet that was probably recently purchased and fill it with a new shiny pair of shoes for the school year or the basketball season.

They were asked to fill it up with things that other community members may need especially this time of year when the weather gets colder and many budgets are tight.

The goal is to teach students about the responsibility they have in giving back to the community that supports them in so many ways.

The challenge was accepted by the students and with great success, there ended up being 16 boxes full of love and joy returned.

The boxes were done with such creativeness and filled with a variety of things from hygiene items, clothing, warm weather gear, movies, blankets, games, toys and so much more.

The generosity of the students and their families brought much hope to others. The boxes were distributed right here in the elementary school and the local food pantry.

LCC High School Student Council members appreciate all the support and wish everyone a safe and healthy Holiday season.
