LCC FFA Career Development Events teams heading to State

LAUREL — Laurel-Concord-Coleridge FFA students attended District Career Development in Norfolk recently.

The students did well with several teams heading to State. LCC FFA’s Agronomy team consisting of Faith Urwiler, Aric Hall, Kayton Hall and Connor Korth qualified as a team placing fifth overall. Faith placed sixth as an individual and Aric placed 13th as an individual.

The Floriculture team consisting of Sarah Karnes, Lilly Pehrson, Samantha Pehrson and Jayden Campbell blew the competition away and placed first as a team qualifying for state as well. Sarah placed third, Lilly placed eighth and Samantha placed 10th individually.

The Welding team also qualified as they placed first overall. Caleb Lipp was first in SMAW, Jayden Pick was fifth in GMAQ, Miles Forsberg was first in OAW and Aaron Bloom was first in GTAW.

The Ag Technology and Mechanics team placed second overall and secured their state qualifying position. Jayden Pick was second in the structural system, Caleb Lipp also received second in the environmental and natural resources, Cody Kempf was third in energy and Miles Forsberg also participated on the team.

The Ag Communications team will also be competing at state. The team consists of Jaclyn Kempf, Madalynn Graham, Connor Korth and Aric Hall.

Agronomy - 5th as a team (state qualified)

Faith Urwiler - 6th individual - received a blue ribbon

Aric Hall - 13th individual - received a red ribbon

Floriculture - 1st as a team (state qualified)

Vet Science - 10th as team

Welding - 1st as a team (state qualified)
