Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Quiz Bowl Teams study up for the new season

LAUREL — The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge quiz bowl team competed in the Lewis and Clark Conference quiz bowl on Wednesday Jan.

Two teams from LCC went to the competition.   The varsity team, included Brianna Campbell, Ethan Cross, Kaylee Donner, and Tyler Lubberstedt.  This team started out with a loss against Wynot.   

They won against Winnebago and Walthill, and then lost to Emerson-Hubbard which ended the tournament for them.   The junior varsity team included Sarah Karnes, Reggan Kuhlman, Mikayla Walker, and London VanCleave.   The team started out with a win against Hartington-Newcastle with a lost to Wausa and then won against Walthill, Osmond, and Wynot.   In the final match of the day they lost to Ponca and ended up fourth place in the tournament.   

  LCC also has a team of four students competing in the KTCH quiz bowl which is broadcast on 104.9 FM.   This team includes Brianna Campbell, Ethan Cross, Reggan Kuhlman, and the alternate is Tyler Lubberstedt.

On January 21, the team competed against Creighton and won 3-1.  This win advanced the team to the next round which will be on February 10 at 10:30 a.m.   

LCC will also have a quiz bowl team going to academic contest in March at Northeast Community College.
