Junior high students participate in honor band
STANTON — Ten Osmond junior high students participated in this year’s Stanton Honor Band on Saturday, Feb. 6. They included Landon Oltjenbruns , Ava Reikofski, Erin Aschoff, Kaydance Maertins, Brianna Kumm, Erin Wagner, Jack Berg, Meagan Wagner, Justin Rohloff and Carriana Kumm.
The conductor was Rob Hartung, a retired band director, who has worked all over the state of Nebraska. The students spent a whole day social distancing, of course, but also making beautiful music.
Osmond band instructor Christalin Ginn explained, “Their concert pieces were themed around different cul-tures. For example, they did a piece called Anasazi’ by John Edmondson that was made in tribute to a Native American school in Arizona. Their concert was at 4 p.m. in the Stanton Public Schools gym. It was a wonderful day and the Osmond students represented the Osmond Music Program really well.”
