Junior high girls end volleyball season

OSMOND — The Osmond Junior High volleyball team wrapped up its season last week with home games against Niobrara-Verdigre and Wausa. On the year, the Lady Tigers’ record was 6-9.

The girls made significant improvements from their first game to their last. They were a fun group that really played well together.

Members of the team were eighth graders Erin Wagner, Sophia Gansebom, Megan Kelly, Keely Gubbels, Brianna Kumm and Kelli Aschoff. Seventh grade members were Ava Reikofski, Kaleigh Miller, Erin Aschoff, Kaydance Maertins, Piper Hoffman, Carriana Kumm, Jade Halsey, and Abby Brown.

Ten of the girls also participated in the Wausa league this year. Those girls included Sopie Gansebom, Brianna Kumm, Erin Wagner, Ava Reikofski, Abby Brown, Kaydance Maertins, Carriana Kumm, Kaleigh Miller, Erin Aschoff, and Piper Hoffman.

This was a great opportunity for the girls to play and gain valuable experience on the court. They ended up playing Plainview for third place in the culminating tournament and lost in three sets, finishing fourth out of six teams.
