Fourth grade visits Ashfall Fossil Beds
ROYAL — On Friday, Sept. 25,
the fourth grade class and their
instructor, Denise Schmit, and
para, Megan Janssen, took a trip to
Ashfall Fossil Beds. The class had
been studying ancient Nebraska
history in social studies.
The class had learned about
the fossils at the Ashfall Fossil
Beds. The group was able to tour
the fossil beds and speak with a
paleontologist about excavation.
They also did a hike to a lookout
over the area.
Members of the class include
Rodgers Chishiba Jr., Kenley
Friedrich, Drake Kingham, Jaylee
Knepp, Adalyn Koehler, Evynn
Kumm, Kobe Maertins, Katarina
Miller, Emiliano Solorzano, and
Trenton Wisely.
