Couple with Randolph roots earn veterinary medicine degrees

AMES, Iowa – Ashley (Schmit) Dierks earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Medicine degree, Cum Laude, during Iowa State University’s graduation ceremonies. There were 4,798 students recognized at spring exercises May 7-8.

Ashley is a 2013 graduate of Randolph High School and daughter of Mike and Jeri Schmit, Randolph. Brady Dierks, also earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Medicine. Brady is a 2013 graduate of Wheeler Central High School and son of Chris and Suzanne Dierks.

The couple are employed at Midtown Animal Hospital, Gering. Students had the opportunity to attend in-person ceremonies and celebrations at Hilton Coliseum and Jack Trice Stadium, which were livestreamed for those who preferred a virtual option.
