Board approves volunteer coaches

RANDOLPH — Randolph School Board members gave their nod of approval Monday to two volunteer coaches during their Jan. 20 meeting at the west school .

Jared Gubbels was approved for wrestling and Mandy Papenhausen was approved for girls basketball. 

“This approval puts these volunteers under the school’s insurance blanket. We can’t just have anyone come and help students at practice, they need to be approved,’’ said Supt. Jeff Hoesing.

Walter Wohlein, new transportation coordinator, was introduced to the school board Monday.

The Board also agreed Monday Paul Schmit will be the Neb. Association of School Boards relations rep. 

The NASB provides advocacy, consultation, board development opportunities, training and support programs for school districts. 

Programs are managed by a staff with oversight by a board of directors including 23 school board members elected by peers.
