Brandon’s Bushel

The month of January is upon

of Blessings

us. As we begin the year 2020, I would like to bring your attention to a weekend meal backpack program that Osmond Community School is participating in.

The program is called Brandon’s Bushel of Blessings. This program is made possible solely through funding by donations as part of the Brandon Gerdes Memorial Foundation. The program is designed to assist families that struggle to make ends meet in their household by providing a nutritious bag meal for the weekend for the children at no cost to the family.

A bag filled with food is sent home with the children on the last day of school each week during the school year. Examples of the food that is provided includes soup, mac and cheese, cereal, canned fruits and granola bars. The disbursement of the backpack meal is done discreetly and the names of the families remain confidential.

If you feel Brandon’s Bushel of Blessings Backpack Program would benefit your family, please contact me at Osmond Community School, (402) 748-3362. I stress that this program is free of charge to any student in grades K-12 and confidentiality of the participants is a high priority. Please help us battle hunger in our community. Thank you.
