18 seniors to graduate from OHS on Saturday

OSMOND — High school careers will come to a close for 18 Osmond High School seniors on Saturday, May 7. Commencement ceremonies will take place in the OHS gym at 2 p.m.

Honor Students Named The four top-ranking seniors will present speeches during the ceremonies. In addition, the next two highest-ranking seniors will deliver the welcome and farewell for the program. Introducing the speakers will be Superintendent David Hamm.

Valedictorian of the Class of 2022 is Kaden Polt. Kaden is the son of Kurt and Sarah Polt. The salutatorian this year is Bailey Schmit, daughter of Tom and Dottie Schmit, and ranking third is Ryan Schmit, son of John and Carol Schmit.

The fourth-ranking senior is Molly Beacom-Timmerman. Molly is the daughter of Michelle Beacom and Daniel Timmerman. Ranking fifth is Grace Gansebom, daughter of Pat and Robbie Gansebom, who will deliver the welcome. As of publication time, the rankings of the fourth- and fifthplace students are very close, so these two places may change.

Sixth-ranking is Lillian Gansebom, who will give the farewell address. Lillian is the daughter of Pat and Robbie Gansebom.

The Program

The processional for the ceremonies will be played by the Osmond High School band, directed by Christalin Ginn. In addition to addresses by members of the senior class, the program includes presentation of American Legion Post 326 Awards by Dave Kruse, commander of American Legion Post 326; recognition of departing staff by Superintendent Dave Hamm; and musical selections by the concert band and senior high chorus.

Presenting the Class of 2022 will be Superintendent Hamm, after which diplomas will be awarded by Board of Education President Mark Moes. The recessional will be presented by members of the graduating class.

Senior Selections

The motto chosen by the Class of 2022 is “Chase your dreams, but always know the road that will lead you home again.” The class flower is a white rose with orange tip, while the chosen colors are orange, black and platinum. The class sponsor is Lacy Stelling.
