Randolph hurdlers dominate at Lewis and Clark Conf. meet

PLAINVIEW — Randolph teammates Keaton Backhaus and Noah Scott dominated the hurdles at the Lewis and Clark Conference Track Meet here Monday.

Backhaus won the 110-meter highs and finished second to Scott in the 300-meter event.

Randolph didn’t have enough competitors to challenge for the team title, though. Defending state champion Hartington-Newcastle earned the conference title.

Hartington-Newcastle scored more than half of their 117.5 team points in the morning’s field events, winning four of the six to pull away with the team title.
