Backhaus, Scott earn State medals
OMAHA — Randolph’s Keaton Backhaus had himself a record-setting day last week at the State Track Meet at Omaha Burke Stadium.
Backhaus broke a Randolph High School record in the 300-meter hurdles that hadn’t been touched since back in 1990.
Jason Speer’s record of 41.0 fell when Backhaus completed his trek around the 300-meter course in 40.687.
Backhaus finished just behind Brodryk Ienn of Osceola to earn the silver medal.
