Randolph prepares for Memorial Day celebration

RANDOLPH — Plans are currently being put in place for Memorial Day celebration in Randolph.

Memorial Day is a federal holiday set aside as a time for remembering the people who died while serving in the country’s armed forces. The holiday, which is observed every year on the last Monday of May, originated as Decoration Day after the American Civil War in 1868.

The Randolph community Memorial Day program will be held Monday, May 27, at 10 a.m., at the Randolph Jr./Sr. High School Commons area.
