Janelle Biernbaum named new Economic Development Director

RANDOLPH - Nearly a 90-minute executive session of the Randolph City Council Wednesday ended with the raises of seven city employees and the hiring of a new Economic Development Director.

Janelle Biernbaum was named to the position following a 4-0 vote. She was approved at a $12,000 annual salary.

The Council approved hourly wage increases for Betty Gross; Peggy Leiting; Janet Groen; Randy Beck; Aaron Nielsen and TJ Lackas. Raises ranged between 10 and 20 cents an hour.

The Council also reviewed job descriptions for all departments, including administrator/clerk/treasurer during the closed-door time period. That position is being vacated at the end of the year.

A report from the zoning and planning committee regarding fences placed in the right-away, was the most discussed item on the agenda.
