Lady Tigers are champs at Verdigre; second at Wausa

In the early morning of Dec. 28, the Lady Tigers reported for practice after a five-day moratorium. Like all schools, no practice or games during this state required time off. Osmond vs. O’Neill St. Mary’s

The Lady Tigers traveled to Verdigre on Thursday, Dec. 28, for a 2:45 p.m. basketball game against O’Neill St. Mary’s Lady Cardinals in opening-round action for Verdigre Booster Club’s Holiday Tournament. Both teams struggled in all aspects of the game as a result of getting out of a routine for the last five days of no practice. When half-time rolled around, the score remained tied at 17 points. Still a little out of sync, just two points separated the Lady Tigers from the Cardinals by a score of 26-24. In the final period, Osmond broke away and outscored O’Neill St. Mary’s to seal the win by a score of 44-34. This moved Osmond into the championship game on Friday evening against Niobrara-Verdigre, who defeated St. Edward.
