Junior high boys finish season with four games

OSMOND — The Osmond- Randolph junior high boys finished the season with four games in their last week of play.

On Tuesday, Feb. 7, the young Hawks traveled to Wausa to take on the Vikings. The “A” team lost 4713. Scorers included Ryan Engel 6, Kaleb Grardner 3, Kody Junck 2, and Kooper Gubbels 2. The “B” team won 2-1 in a 10-minute running clock contest. Bentley Reimers had 2 points for the Hawks and Mason True had the defensive stop to secure the win.

On Thursday, Feb. 9, the Hawks took on the Plainview Pirates in Osmond. The “A” team lost 45-28. Scoring was Ryan Engel 16, Kaleb Gardner 6, Kooper Gubbels 4, and Kody Junck 2. The “B” team lost 34--10. Scoring was Bentley Boncynski 4, Owen Junck 2, Easton Steinkraus 2, Eli Bermel 1, and Hunter McGhee 1.

The Hawks finished the year earning second place in their own tournament in Osmond on Saturday, Feb. 11 (“O” Club tournament). The Hawks won the 9 a.m. game, beating Creighton 29-15. Ryan Engel led the Hawks with 19, followed by Kaleb Gardner 9, and Jaylen Junck 1. In the 12 p.m. championship game, the Hawks lost to Wausa 48-13. Kaleb Gardner had 4 points, followed by Ryan Engel 4, Kooper Gubbels 3, and Kody Junck 2.
