Junior high girls’ basketball team ends season in tournament

The Osmond-Randolph junior high girls’ basketball team had a number of games in the last several weeks.

On Jan. 23, they lost to Creighton 27-8. Creighton turned up the heat in the third quarter to pull away.

On Jan. 27, they lost to Elgin Public-Pope John 30-20. It was close throughout, but EPPJ pulled away late.

The Jan 28 tournament at Crofton was cancelled because of the weather.

The girls ended the final week of the season 2-1 and ended up as runner-up in the “O” Club tournament.

On Tuesday, Feb. 7, the Osmond-Randolph Hawks went to Wausa and came away with a 24-15 victory.

Then on Saturday, Feb. 11, in the “O” Club tournament, Osmond- Randolph won their first game against Wausa, 26-17, and lost in the title game to Creighton, 48-28.

Creighton used the third quarter to pull away in the game that was 18-16 close to halftime.

“Overall the junior high girls won four games on the season and we coaches were pleased with the progress and strides made during the season,” said Coach Dale Krause.
