Vision becomes reality for Sons of American Legion

OSMOND — What began as a vision for the Sons of the American Legion (SAL) Squadron 326 a few years ago became reality when the service group hosted the dedication of the new Osmond Veterans Monument on Sunday, Sept. 8.

Aboutayear ago, thedecision was made by members of the group to go ahead with the project, so a committee was formed and they began exploring possibilities. The plans for the monument were unveiled at the squadron’s Christmas Wishes program last December. The order was placed with the monument company and, in January, the Sons began accepting donations toward the estimated $65,000 cost.
