Schmit takes seat as Pierce County commissioner

PIERCE — The Pierce County Board of Commissioners conducted its annual reorganization of the board during the Monday, Jan. 14, regular meeting with newly-elected District2 CommissionerJim Schmit taking his seat for the first time.

District 3 Commissioner Terry Wragge was re-elected chairman of the Board for 2019. District 1 Commissioner Marvin Elwood was elected chairman of the Pierce County Board of Equalization.

The reorganization continued with the appointment of the commissioners to the various boards of government agencies and area organizations.

The appointments are: Northeast Area Agency of Aging Board, Terry J. Wragge, Marvin Elwood Jr., alternate; Region IV Mental Health Board, Jim Schmit, Wragge, alternate; North Star, Elwood, Schmit, alternate; Goldenrod Joint Housing Authority, Elwood, Schmit, alternate; Juvenile Detention Center Board, Wragge, Schmit, alternate; County Used Oil Contact individual, Wragge, Elwood, alternate; NE Nebraska Economic Dev. District, Schmit, Elwood, alternate; North Central Public Health Board, Elwood, Wragge, alternate; Pierce County Economic Dev.Group, Schmit,(contactperson only) Wragge, alternate; Region 11 Emergency Management Board, Schmit, Wragge, alternate; Elkhorn Valley LEPC Board, Schmit, Wragge, alternate; Pierce County E911 Advisory Board, Wragge, Elwood, alternate.
