Osmond City Council votes to add sales tax issue to November ballot

OSMOND — During the Monday, May 14, meeting of the Osmond City Council, members approved Resolution No. 2018-3, a resolution to add city sales tax increase to the November 2018 ballot. The resolution comes after months of discussion on the condition of Osmond Municipal Pool and the options available. At a previous town hall meeting, those in attendance indicated that they approved of the idea of putting in a new swimming pool. The decision was also made at that time, to go forward with repairs so that the current pool can be open this summer.

Treasurer Cindy Hoffman reported that she had spoken with JEO representatives who said they will begin work on a realistic rendering of the new pool. Council members voted to use sales tax funds in the amount of $6,200 for JEO’s proposal and rendering of the pool.
