Memorial fund stands at $25,000

OSMOND — During the Christmas Wishes program on Sunday, Dec. 9, members of Sons of the American Legion (SAL) Squadron 326 unveiled plans for a new Veterans Memorial, which will be placed north of the Osmond city auditorium. The SAL is the steering committee for the project, with the direction of American Legion Post 326.

The estimated cost of the memorial is $65,000, with a goal for completion of the memorial by Veterans Day 2019. As of Wednesday, Dec. 26, the amount in the memorial fund is approximately $25,000, which includes a $3,500 donation received recently from Michael Foods, as well as a $10,000 donation from the Osmond Park Board and other local donations.
