Kuhl shares love of hunting with new firearms business

OSMOND — A new business has opened in town. Garret Kuhl, one of the agents at New Frontier Insurance, recently became a firearms dealer and started a new business, Open Country Firearms, LLC. The business, for now, will be conducted in the New Frontier Insurance building.

“We had a conference room we weren’t using,” Garret said, “and starting out smaller, I wanted to focus on having a lot of inventory and not a bunch of overhead. And I’m here all the time anyway!”

The hours will be the same as the insurance agency’s hours — 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; however, Garret said, because a lot of people are working and it isn’t always convenient to come between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., he will set up appointments for later in the day. Since he lives in town, he said it is easy for him to come down when it’s convenient for customers.
