Game and Parks: ‘Mountain lion’ sighting probably a dog

OSMOND — Friday morning, Jan. 25, a report came in that a mountain lion had possibly been seen in town. According to Osmond Police Chief Gary Umberger, a gentleman had seen what he thought was a mountain lion running across the street in the vicinity of the public library at 5:30 a.m.

The man told someone at Osmond General Hospital, who then called the police department to report it. Umberger immediately notified Osmond Community School and St. Mary’s School, then called the Nebraska Game and Parks.
