Firemen receive grant funds from Farmers Pride, others for new, updated equipment

OSMOND — The Osmond Fire Department recently received two grants toward new equipment. The first was a matching grant from Farmers Pride and Land O’ Lakes Foundation, which will go toward updated Jaws of Life Equipment. The check was presented recently to the fire department by Meril Friedrich, location manager for Farmers Pride.

Dawn Pochop, Farmers Pride human researches representative, said “Farmers Pride is ‘In the Community’with a recent matching grant to Osmond Fire Department.  Offered through the Land O’ Lakes Foundation, Farmers Pride and Land O’ Lakes recently awarded $2,900 to the Osmond Fire Department for the purchase of updated Jaws of Life equipment.”

Dean Thernes, president of Farmers Pride, said “Our local emergency services are vital in our rural communities.  We are proud to support the fire department in order for them to have the equipment they need for rescue situations.”
