Commissioners continue wind energy discussion

PIERCE — The Pierce County Board of Commissioners and Pierce County Zoning Administrator Heather McWhorter, during the Tuesday, Jan. 2, regular meeting, continued discussion of the proposed amendments to the county’s wind energy zoning regulations recommended by the Pierce County Planning and Zoning Commission.

During its December meeting, the board extended a moratorium they had put in place since last June on accepting any applications for wind energy projects in Pierce County until June 18, 2018. But board members have said they hope to make a decision on the regulations before then.
