City council discusses affordable housing funds, flood

OSMOND — The Monday, April 8, meeting of the Osmond City Council began with the Affordable Housing Trust Funds Hearing. Also during the meeting, reports on flood damage and repairs were given by various city departments. Separate reports on the hearing and flood damage are printed on this page of the Republican.

Thomsen’s Corner Upgrades

Mike Alexander of Thomsen’s Corner asked to replace the sidewalk on the south side of his business along with the curb and gutter to extend from the alley to State Street. Utility Supervisor Tom Kruse indicated he did not see it to be a problem if they keep the current drainage slope. Alexander went on to say he had also submitted an application to the state for a liquor license and asked about how to dispose of the debris from removing the wall to the beer garden. After a brief discussion, council suggested he take the debris to the Plainview dump site.
