City council approves pool design, discusses flood-related repairs

OSMOND — The Osmond City Council met Monday, June 10, and covered a number of issues, including pool design, Poolside Park issues, flood damage repairs and a drainage study.

Pool Design Approved

Mayor James Bessmer addressed key points in the geotechnical report on the pool site. The only concern noted was all four different borings reached the water table at 10 ft. to 13 ft. below grade. Certain construction practices will be recommended to deal with the high-water level. The soil test noted in the report was done on May 21.

The council discussed the final pool design. The existing bathhouse will remain. A roof will be installed over the mechanical room and it will be enclosed by a fence. Several play features will be installed. The council then approve the pool design and approved publishing ads requesting an invitation to bid for the construction of the “2019 Osmond Aquatic Facility” to be received by 2 p.m. on the July 2, 2019.
