Sept. 27: Yankton Police Department calls for an assist for a potentially suicidal woman threatening to cut herself.

Vandalism reported inside apartment building with spray paint on the walls and ceiling.

Sept. 28: Caller reported cattle out on 575 Avenue off of Highway 12 near Obert.

Rescue unit called to Randolph for man experiencing weakness.

Rescue unit called to Laurel Medical for injured woman.

Dixon County calls for Wynot Fire for mutual aid east of Newcastle on 881 Road for haybales and silage on fire.

Caller reports vehicle with 13-county plates driving at high rate of speed and passing in a no-passing zone on southbound Highway 81.

Combine reported on fire four miles south of Sholes, transferred to Wayne County.

Two 911 calls come in from Coleridge woman. “I’m trying to call United Health and the phone number starts with 911. I’ll have to find a different number. I’m so sorry.”

Rescue unit called to Belden for man experiencing pain.

Wynot man calls about issues with his mother who has dementia, says she keeps destroying his and others’ property. Officer advises that he needs to talk to Adult Protective Services. Man says APS, senators, the governor, the military - everyone he calls cannot help. “She was on death row at one time for killing her first husband and she was able to get out of that. I have proof that she has tried to poison my food even when I was growing up. She is a sex offender and has failed to register. She has boys over to the house. She is wanted by the U.S. Marshall’s task force and I was told to call when she is here so they can come get her but I have been unable to reach them.”

Sept. 29: Woman calls to report someone in her yard with a light. Neighbor also calls with same report. Officer does not find anyone in the area.

Wynot man calls regarding call log printed in the Cedar County News, requesting more information.

Rescue unit called to Belden for man with medical issue.

Man calls inquiring about contacting the game warden due to three calves being killed.

Caller asks why traffic is backed up near Kathol Turf. It turns out there was an oversized load and there’s a stop sign for traffic.

Man calls to report a suspicious person hanging around the bus pickup in Coleridge. “He is there every morning around the kids and then bolts when someone sees him.” Officers were able to identify the man and speak with him.

Man reports trying to rent a room at a Laurel motel and being harassed by another man who is not letting him leave. 911 call comes in with an unknown male on the line. “Get the sheriff here now. You have my number.” Dispatch asks what is going on. “You know what’s going on.” Caller hangs up. Dispatch able to locate call in Laurel. Call later related back to man trying to rent motel room.
