Vanessa Louise Loberg
RANDOLPH — Vanessa Louise Loberg, 47, Randolph, died May 18, 2019, at Faith Regional Health Services, Norfolk. She was our special child and everyone was her friend.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., May 22, with a 7:30 p.m. Christian Wake, Wednesday at the church, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home, Randolph.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, at Saint Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, Randolph, with Rev. Father Timothy Forget and Deacon Doug Tunink officiating.
Interment will be in Saint Jane Frances Catholic Cemetery, Randolph.
Pallbearers will be Vanessa’s sister and brothers, Paul Loberg, Loren Loberg, Verlene Synovec, Keith Loberg, Daryl Loberg, Merlin Loberg, Arlyn Loberg, Darin Loberg, Steve Loberg and Jason Loberg.
Vanessa was born Jan. 18, 1972, at Osmond General Hospital, Osmond, to Vernon and Beverly (Gubbels) Loberg. She was baptized Jan. 24, 1972, received First Communion March 20, 1983, and was confirmed April 18, 1989, all at Saint Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, Randolph, where she was a lifelong member. Vanessa attended Region IV, Special Education program at Pierce and graduated from Randolph High School in 1993.
She delivered the Norfolk Daily Newspaper and helped in the family owned business in Randolph. Vanessa lived with her parents until starting at Mosaic Day Services, Norfolk, in 1994. She worked at Breeze Salon, Battle Creek, for three years and several volunteer activities. Vanessa lived in a couple of host homes including an over 10 years long-term stay with Tom and Fran Wolff and their family, until entering Colonial Manor, Randolph, in August 2018.
Vanessa was everyone’s friend. She loved spending time with family, playing UNO and watching Husker football. She enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics and riding horses at “Smiles” in Battle Creek. She beamed when nieces and nephews wanted to play UNO with her and gave everyone she loved their own special nickname.
Survivors include her father, Vernon Loberg, Randolph; Born 12th of 13 children, Vanessa’s siblings include, Paul and Julie Loberg, Randolph; Loren and Tammi Loberg, Norfolk; sisterin-law, Julie Loberg, Randolph; Verlene and Jerry Synovec, Randolph; Keith and Diane Loberg, Randolph; Daryl and Julie Loberg, North Bend; Merlin and Angie Loberg, Omaha; Arlyn Loberg, Randolph; Darin and Jackie Loberg, Randolph; Steve Loberg, Omaha; Jason Loberg, Omaha; 25 nieces and nephews; 27 great-nieces and nephews; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Preceding Vanessa in death are her mother, Beverly, in 2006; two brothers, Lester in 1984, and Dale, in 2004; her paternal and maternal grandparents, aunts and uncles.
