Sherry Dawn Rohloff-Meyer

RANDOLPH — Services for Sherry Dawn Rohloff-Meyer, 73, Randolph, will be Nov. 2, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Frances Church, Randolph, with Father Tim Forget officiating and assisted by Deacon Doug Tunink. Sherry died Oct. 27, 2018, at Colonial Manor, Randolph, surrounded by family. Visitation will be Nov. 1, at St. Frances Catholic Church, from 5-7 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Ashburn Funeral Homes, Plainview. Sherry was born June 14, 1945, in Osmond, to Dale and Shirley (Runge) Brokaw. Sherry attended and graduated from Plainview High School. Sherry married John Rohloff Nov. 28, 1964, and the couple resided in Randolph. They had three children. John died in 1975. Sherry then married Elmer Meyer in O’Neill June 30, 1981, with the directions of Father LaRoque. The couple welcomed two more children to the family from this marriage. Elmer and Sherry resided on a farm outside of Randolph, where Sherry still lived until entering the Colonial Manor. Sherry was a farm wife, known as the “egg lady” to many, who really enjoyed her baby animals, cooking and canning, sewing, ceramics and, most importantly, visiting with family and friends. She always welcomed company and wanted to spoil the grandkids. Sherry is survived by her children, Kathy (Bobby) Hamilton, Holdrege; Sheryl (Jeff) Prince, Osmond; John Rohloff (Tonna Poppe), Randolph; Michael Meyer, Crofton; and Sara Umberger, Randolph; daughter-in-law, Michelle (Thies) Meyer, Randolph; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Nyla (Dennis) Hansen, Meadow Grove, and Debbi Brokaw, Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, John Rohloff, in 1975, and Elmer Meyer, in 2014; son-in-law, Bob Umberger; granddaughter, Bobbie Jo Umberger; and brother, Merrill Brokaw.
