Robert D. “Bob” Addison

WAYNE — A Celebration Of Life Service for Robert D. “Bob” Addison, 64, Wayne, will be held at the family farm southeast of Wayne, at a later date.

Bob died March 31, 2020, at his farm home near Wayne.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hasemann Funeral Home, Wayne.

Robert Douglas “Bob” “Buck” Addison was born Oct. 2, 1955, in Lincoln to John V. and Betty (Berry) Addison. After the birth of his sister, Susan, his family moved to Wayne, where brother, John B., was born. Bob attended and graduated from Wayne Public School in 1973, and Hastings Community College. He specialized in transmission repair. Bob was an over-the-road trucker for over 40 years, last driving for Erwin Trucking, Laurel. Anyone he met on the road was a friend and he would help anyone who needed it. Others turned to him for his knowledge of the roads and a guide prior to gps.

He also drove bus for Nebraska School Bus in Wayne and was employed by Wood Plumbing. While not on the road, Bob worked on the goat ranch with his wife, Julie. He was proud of the day he delivered 27 baby goats on his own. Bob loved all animals and often referred to the farm as his family zoo.

On Julie’s birthday in July 2001, Bob and Julie were married on Julie’s family farm southeast of Wayne. They exchanged vows with their children by their sides combining their two families. Bob’s first love was his family, his second was driving over the road, coast to coast.

He enjoyed fast cars, Husker football, NASCAR, Scifi, Westerns and James Bond movies.

He was a great cook and invented new dishes for his children, including weenie soup, marshmallow fajitas, peanut butter and noodles, and hockey puck biscuits and gravy. Bob was a member of the Wayne Eagle’s Club.

Bob is survived by his rock and beloved wife, Julie; brother, John Addison, Parker, Colo.; sister, Susan (Michael) Dawes, Parker, Colo.; his children, Eric (Katie) Frye, Wayne; Kevin (Nicole) Addison, Lincoln; Sean Addison, Wayne; Anna Addison, Lincoln; and Makayla (Jeremy) Berger, Wayne; grandchildren, Devon Field, Wisner; Emily Addison, Wayne; Alexis Frye, Wayne; Deacon Baglien, Lincoln; Patrick Addison, Wayne; Nolan Addison, Lincoln; Owen Addison, Wayne; Logan Addison, Lincoln; Hunter Sternberg, Wayne; and Brixton Berger, Wayne; uncles, Tom Addison, Lincoln, and Tom Marre, Columbus, Ohio; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ervin and Norma Hagemann, Scottsdale, Ariz.; and a nephew, Ryan Bohnenkamp, Aurora, Colo.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Ervin and Leona (Wittler) Hagemann; aunt, Jeannie Marre; niece, Cheryl Polakowski.
