Patricia A. Windeshausen

A Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia A. Windeshausen, 85, of Sioux City was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, 2023, at Holy Cross Parish, Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Peter Nguyen as Celebrant. Interment followed at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in South Sioux City, NE. Visitation was from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, 2023, at the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with family present at 4 p.m. and a Vigil Service beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday evening. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www. meyerbroschapels.com Patricia A. Windeshausen passed away on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, at a local nursing facility comforted by family.

Patricia was born on Dec. 12, 1937, in Sioux City, IA, to George and Cecelia (Treinen) Tubbs. She graduated from South Sioux City High School with the Class of 1956. Patricia attended Wayne State College where she earned her two-year elementary degree. She taught in Osmond, where she met her husband Eugene “Gene” Windeshausen, and married in January of 1960. The family moved to Sioux City in 1966 and Pat taught in South Sioux City for one year. While they raised three sons, Pat attended Wayne State, University of South Dakota, and Morningside College, where she graduated with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education in 1980. Pat taught Title One Reading for the Community School District at St. Joseph, Cathedral, and St. Michael’s Schools. Patricia was a proud, past member of the State Education Association, the National Retired Teachers Association, and the Siouxland Center for Active Generations.

Patricia is survived by her three sons, Troy Windeshausen, Paul (Connie) Windeshausen, and Brad Windeshausen; six grandchildren, Philip, Kendra, Kyle, Brogan, Breckyn, and Carson; two great-grandchildren, Paige and Parker (children of Philip and Megan Windeshausen); sisterin- law Elaine Tubbs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gene, daughterin- law Barb, and brother Bob Tubbs.
