Mildred Kruse

OSMOND — Funeral services for Mildred Marie (Wortman) Kruse were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osmond with Rev. Glen Emery officiating. Burial was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Organist Clint Dennis accompanied the congregational hymns, “Lift High the Cross,” “Jesus, Savior Pilot Me,” “Just As I Am, Without One Plea,” “In The Garden” and “How Great Thou Art.” Pallbearers were Randy Kruse, Matthew Kruse, Justin Justengillilan, Chris Tyler, John Rinkol and Tim Kruse. Honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held Friday, Aug. 16, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osmond.

Mrs. Kruse died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019, in Osmond.

Mildred was born in Osmond on June 16, 1935, to Emil and Sarah Wortman. She was baptized on Aug. 25, 1935, at Immanuel Lutheran Church and confirmed March 21, 1948. She graduated from Osmond High School in 1952. Mildred married Gene Kruse on Sept. 8, 1957, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osmond. During her life, she worked for Goeres Electric, Golter’s Store, and was the bookkeeper for Skelly Gas Station in Osmond. After retirement, she worked at Tom’s Tavern with her son, Tom.

Mildred is survived by Tom Kruse of Osmond, Marty and (Jackie) Kruse of Osmond, David and (Shelley) Kruse of Osmond, Bill and (Nancy) Kruse of Council Bluffs, IA, and Barb and (Todd) Tyler of Lincoln; 15 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, 18 stepgreatgrandchildren and four stepgreatgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, in 2015, an infant daughter, her parents, one sister and eight brothers.
