Marion J. Adkisson

Marion J. Adkisson, 90, of Lincoln died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020, at a Hospice Care Home in Lincoln. No services are planned at this time.

Marion Jay was born on Sept. 19, 1929, in Gresham, NE, to Miller Vern and Inez Arletta (Valentine) Adkisson. Marion and his wife, Mary Ann, moved to Osmond in 1978. He was a public accountant and joined Duane L. Reed as a partner in Reed Accounting in 1979. Marion sold his interest to Gary Pavel in 1982. In December of that year, he began employment at Osmond State Bank. The couple sold their home in 1991 and moved to Benson, AZ, where three of his sisters lived. From there, they moved to Sunsites, AZ, and then to Las Cruses, NM, closer to their son. In December of 2018, they moved back to Lincoln. Marion was a member of the Masonic Lodge Ashlar Lodge 33 for 65 years, past member of the Shriner’s, volunteered with SCORE, and many other volunteer positions throughout his life. He loved wood carving, collecting stamps, riding motorcycles, camping and traveling.

Marion is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mary Ann; children, Sharon (Les) Cook of Lincoln, Richard (Justine) Adkisson of Las Cruses, NM, and Jody (John) French of Walton; grandchildren, Jessica (Donovan) Taylor, Joni (Ben) Fitzgerald, Audrey Adkisson, Stephen Adkisson, Jennifer (Derek) Bruhl, Juliann (Shane) Miller, six great-grandchildren; sisters, Letamae French and Celesta Jacobsen, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
