Margaret Grote

WAUSA — Private family services for Margaret Grote, 69, Wausa, were Jan 15 at Thabor Lutheran Church, Wausa. Rev. Carl Sirotzki officiated.

Public graveside services followed at Thabor Lutheran Cemetery, Wausa.

Public visitation, without family present, was Thursday at the church.

Social distancing guidelines were followed and masks were required. Brockhaus Funeral Home, Wausa, was in charge of arrangements.

Margaret died Jan. 9, 2021, at Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha.

Margaret Eileen Grote, daughter of Clayton and Joyce West, was born May 4, 1951, at Yankton, S.D. She graduated from Ponca High School. Margaret had two children with Vern Snider, William, in 1972, and Brian, in 1976.

Margaret was a member of Thabor Lutheran Church and Wausa Women’s Weekly Card Club. She traveled the country as a truck driver, learned to ride a motorcycle in Los Angeles, and ended her career working on the family farm.

Margaret is survived by son, Brian and Elizabeth Snider, and their three children, William, Sequel and Kimberly; son, William Snider and partner, Eve Thompson, and his daughter, Brenna Snider; brother, Raymond West; and sister, Linda Hughes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Joyce West; and brothers, William and Jim West.
