Marcella A. Frauendorfer

MADISON — Funeral service for Marcella A. Frauendorfer, 84, formerly of Madison, was held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2019, at the St. Leonard's Catholic Church in Madison with Father Gregory Karl officiating. Interment was in St. Leonard's Catholic Cemetery of rural Madison. Organist was Bonnie Schomer. Pallbearers will be Jerimie Frauendorfer, Jason Frauendorfer, Clifford Stech, Victor Stech, Lucas Stech, Keigh Gardner, Kendall Frauendorfer, Nathan Frauendorfer, Danny Frauendorfer, D.J. Frauendorfer, Matt Frauendorfer, Justin Frauendorfer, Calvin Gardner and Ethan Stech.

Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, also at St. Leonard's Catholic Church, with the rosary service at 7 p.m.

Marcella died Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Plainview Manor.

Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk is in charge of the arrangements.

Born Dec. 10, 1934, in Norfolk, Marcella A. Frauendorfer was the daughter of Ambrose and Delora (Holt) Karella. She attended grade school in Norfolk and graduated from Norfolk Catholic High School. She married Alvin D. Frauendorfer on April 25, 1955, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norfolk. Marcella and Alvin moved near Humphrey and farmed. They later moved to Madison, and Marcella worked for Lady of Lourdes Hospital. Marcella later volunteered for the blood drive in Madison and numerous activities at St. Leonard’s Catholic Church. She also worked at the horseracing tracks in Madison and Columbus. The couple moved to Osmond in 2014. Marcella enjoyed knitting, collecting angels and rosaries, baking bread and dinner rolls and sweets. She was a member of St. Leonard’s Catholic Church in Madison, where she was a CCD teacher and served on the Lady’s Guild.

Survivors include her children, Bob Frauendorfer of Columbus, Jane (Bob) Stech of Punta Gorda, FL, Arthur (Christine) Frauendorfer of Plymouth, IN, Bette (Rick) Gardner of Osmond and Keith (Julie) Frauendorfer of Royse City, TX; 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; sisters Mildred Ridder of Madison and Sharon (Bill) Frost of Wasilla, AK; brother Pete (Betty) Karella of Spring Hill, FL; sister-in-law Nancy Frauendorfer of Humphrey, and a brother-in-law, Tom (Sandy) Frauendorfer of Humphrey.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, Alvin, on Oct. 23, 2018; her parents, Ambrose and Delora; a son, David; four grandchildren; her brothers, Andy, Dale and Lloyd, and a sister, Florence Larson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Leonard’s Catholic Church in Madison.
