LINCOLN — Celebration of life for John Edward McClure, 67, of Lincoln will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church in Lincoln on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, at 11 a.m.

John Edward McClure, 67 of Lincoln passed away Sept. 15, 2021.

Mr. McClure was born June 30, 1954, in San Francisco, Calif., to Edward McClure and Dolores (Trasvina) McClure Kimpson. He was united in marriage to Beth Rene Peters on July 31, 1976.

Survivors include; wife, Beth; and children, Shannon (Jim) Meyer and Bryan McClure, all of Lincoln; grandchildren, Caleb, Kaycee, Chance, and Charlotte Meyer, Lincoln; siblings, Joe McClure and Scott Kimpson, Colorado, and Michelle Justice, Michigan; in-laws, Margaret and Joe Stanek, Weston; Michael Peters, Stewart, Iowa; Nadine and Keith Oetting, McCook; Anita Winder, Lincoln; Kelvin and Diana Peters, Wausa; Joy and Jerry Payne, Woodbine, Iowa; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward McClure and Dolores Trasvina McClure Kimpson, and in-laws, Kenneth and Lydia Peters.

Memorials may be given to Messiah Lutheran Church and School, Bigredsat.org - A nonprofit John inspired that includes eighth through eleventh grade students from around Nebraska to launch a CubeSat into space on a NASA satellite, and UNL University Lutheran Chapel.
