Jimmie Boelter

BLOOMFIELD – Memorial services for Jimmie Boelter, 75, Bloomfield, were held Sept. 5 at Christ Memorial United Methodist Church, Bloomfield.

The Rev. Clare Gager officiated. Graveside services were held in Grimton Cemetery, Walnut.

Brockhaus Funeral Home, Bloomfield, was in charge of arrangements.

Jimmie died Aug. 29, 2023, at Faith Regional Health Services, Norfolk.

Jimmie E. Boelter, son of Ernest and Thelma (Butterfield) Boelter, was born Sept. 27, 1947, in Orchard. In 1988, Jimmie went to live in a group home at Region IV, now called NorthStar Services.

Jimmie was fun-loving and had a wonderful talent for remembering people’s names. NorthStar provided fun activities and social and educational opportunities for him.

Jimmie really enjoyed playing baseball, fishing, camping, farm activities and visiting with others.

Jimmie had wonderful caregivers and lots of friends at NorthStar. He is survived by his nieces, Penny (Van Ostrand) Miller and Peggy Van Ostrand; nephew, Perry Van Ostrand; and many cousins and other relatives.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Thelma Boelter; step father, Fred Storm; sister, Leone; and good friend, Dale Acklie.
