Jerene Ann (Dietsch) Vandewege

VALLEY — Jerene Ann (Dietsch) Vandewege, 70, Valley, formerly of Omaha and Lincoln, died Feb. 6, 2020, after a brief illness.  

Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m., Feb. 12, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Valley.  

Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Elkhorn.  

Visitation and a wake service were Tuesday at the church.  

Survivors include her husband, Avon Vandewege; her three children, Jonathan (Jody) Kathol , Omaha; Jane (Troy) Brannen, Omaha; and Ted (Alyssa) Kathol, Valley; grandchildren, Baylor and Noelle Brannen, and Lily and Amelia Kathol; three brothers and three sisters: Robert (MaryLou) Dietsch, Omaha; Daniel (Kathy) Dietsch, Omaha; Jim Dietsch; Seward; Mary Kramer; Lincoln; Joan (Skip) Cady, St. Michael, Minn.; and Carole (Lyle) Schulte, Fordyce; and many nieces and nephews.  Jerene is also survived by Avon’s children, Corey (Shannon) Vandewege, Lincoln; Mindy (Matt) Rueschhoff, Lincoln; and Renny (Katie) Vandewege, Oklahoma City, Okla,; and their eight children; Avon’s siblings, Peggy (Mike) Loos, Lincoln, and Dick (Mimi)Vandewege,Lubbock, Texas.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Gertrude Dietsch; brother and sister-inlaw, Gary and Winnie Dietsch; sister-in-law, Lois Dietsch; two nieces and one nephew.

Memorials may be directed to St. John’s Catholic Church in Valley’s “G.I.F.T.” Fund.
