Jane Anderson

WEST POINT — Jane Anderson, 76, West Point died Feb. 3, 2019, at Premier Estates, West Point.  

Visitation was Thursday at Stokely Funeral Home, West Point.

Funeral services were Feb. 8 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, West Point, with Rev. Richard Bringewatt as officiant.  

Burial was at the Beemer Cemetery, with lunch following at the church hall.  

Jane Dian Ludwig was born May 13, 1942, in West Point, to Harry and Adele (Schmidt) Ludwig.  She attended West Point District 28 elementary school, graduated from Concordia High School, Seward, in 1960, and graduated from Concordia Teacher’s College, Seward, in 1965.  Jane married Wesley Daberkow June 4, 1964, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, West Point.  The couple had five children, Lisa, Sarah, John, James and Rachel. Jane married Rodger Anderson Nov. 9, 1984, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, West Point.

Jane began her career as a Lutheran school teacher in Nebraska and Indiana.  Later, she attained her Certified Nursing Assistant, which afforded her the opportunity to work with her sister, Marian.  She ended her career as a home healthcare provider, caring for many wonderful people.  

Jane was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, and Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.  Jane was a great supporter of the military, including her membership to the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.  She was very proud of her sons (John – Air Force, James - NE Air Guard), daughterin-law (Bernadette Steele - Air Force) and son-in-law (Rob Brogan – Air Force).  She also was a staple at the local Relay for Life and other cancer benefits.  She and Rodger enjoyed traveling, often to visit family.  Jane was full of laughter and hugs, converting many strangers to friends.

Survivors include her husband, Rodger, West Point; children, Lisa (Dan) Stalp, Overland Park, Kan.; Sarah (Mike) Reifenrath, Wynot; John (Bernadette) Daberkow, stationed with the Air Force in Washington, D.C.; James (Michelle) Daberkow, Lincoln; and Rachel (Robert) Brogan, Parker, Colo.; sister, Marian (Melburn) Brockmann, West Point; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Sydney, Jackson and Dominic Stalp; Alea, Lucas, Braeden and Adelyn Jane Reifenrath; Helena, Hailey, and Arthur Daberkow; Callum Daberkow; and Ruby Jane and Rosa Brogan.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Adele; her parents-in-law, Eldred and Marian Anderson; brother-in-law, John Anderson; and granddaughter, Mika Kaylen Daberkow.
