Geraldine May Stephens

VAN BUREN, Ark.— Geraldine May Stephens, 93, died at her daughter’s home Oct. 8, 2018, in Van Buren, Ark. Services were Oct. 13 at the Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, Centennial, Colo., followed by a committal service at Olinger Chapel Hill Cemetery. Geraldine was born June 5, 1925, to Gerald and Anna Fox, Belden. She grew up in Belden and graduated from Belden High School in 1943. She married Lyle Schultz, Randolph, and together they had six children. After several years as a military family, they settled in Colorado, living in the Denver area. Later she married Theodore “Ted” Stephens and they resided in Aurora, Colo. Geraldine was a fiercely independent woman. She was the perfect mix of sweet, adventurous, loving and crafty. She spent many years working in the school system as the lead cook before “retiring” and working for the State and National Parks. She truly enjoyed staying active as a Pink Lady at the hospitals and never seemed to slow down. She was a collector of sorts - from salt and pepper shakers to churches and Christmas items. Geraldine loved camping, fishing, and going to the casino; but her truest passion, was for her family. She will be dearly missed by her children, She is survived by her children, Linda Kittle, Van Buren, Ark.; Robert and Cheryl Schultz, Bennett, Colo.; Richard Schultz, Van Buren, Ark.; Janet and Gary Stutz, Aurora, Colo.; and Jerry and Cheryl Schultz, Van Buren, Ark.; her sister, Jeannette Wobbenhorst, Belden; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her first husband, Lyle Schultz; her second husband, Ted Stephens; and by her parents.
