Elsie May “Mazie” Louthan Chesser

FORT SMITH, Ark. — Elsie May (Mazie) Louthan Chesser died at her home in Fort Smith, Ark., Sept. 26, 2018.
A memorial service was held at First United Methodist Church, Fort Smith, Ark., Sept. 30.
Mazie was born May 19, 1935, in Chicago, Ill., to Rev. Ross and Mrs. Clara Louthan. She is a 1952 graduate of Randolph High School and Asbury College. She taught in elementary schools for 40 years.
In 1960, she married Rev. Lewis Chesser, a United Methodist minister.
Mazie is survived by her husband of 58 years, and her three children, Wilburn (Frances) Chesser, Dawn (Scot) Danforth, and William (Allison) Chesser; and five grandchildren.
