Douglas D. Gansebom was born to Dwaine and Betty (Albrecht) Gansebom on Aug. 29, 1955, at Osmond General Hospital. Doug was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was baptized in Sept. 25, 1955, and confirmed on April 27, 1969. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School and graduated from Osmond High School in 1973 where he was an outstanding athlete and was crowned homecoming king his senior year. Doug married Cheryl Backer Munter on April 2, 1982, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osmond. Their wedding day started out a beautiful spring day and ended with a blizzard that kept the wedding guests captive at the city auditorium until morning. They settled on the farm south of Osmond, where Cheryl still lives. Doug was a dairy farmer for 42 years, selling the last of the cows in 2015. He loved farming, seeing God all around him in nature. He was a devoted Christian and a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was happiest on the farm and with his family and took much joy from sharing his faith with others.
